On Sunday 24th September 2023 10 CFH employees took on the 20-mile Circuit of Bath walk in aid of Julian House.
The walk saw them start at St Gregory’s School in Odd Down, before making their way to Newbridge Park and Ride, Kingswood Sports Pavilion in Lansdown, The George in at Bathhampton, the Canal Visitor Centre in Limpley Stoke, before making their way back to their starting point.
Whilst the day started a little drizzly, which the walkers were thankful for, the team finished with the sun coming through in time to celebrate.
The walk provided impressive views of Bath and surrounding areas, walking across a mixture of fields and paths …with only a few scrambles up and down muddy hills that led to two slips. DJ Danny was on hand to supply the walk playlist (named ‘but I would walk 20.9 miles…’) and team leader Louise Hale kept everyone in high spirits the whole way around, including a quick quiz near the end.
If you are looking for a 9 hour playlist, with something for everyone you can access DJ Danny’s playlist here.
The walk took the team over 9 hours to complete, with an average of 54,000 steps. It is safe to say there were some sore feet and tired legs by the end of it!
Collectively the team raised over £1,000 for Julian House. The charity supports vulnerable and at-risk individuals in the South West of England. These include adults and young people experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties and people who need support after leaving prison.
Well done CFH Walking Wanderers on completing such an achievement for an amazing cause!
