At CFH we endeavour to work with likeminded organisations and charity groups that share our values, so we’re delighted to announce our developing partnership with The Big Issue - the UK's number one street paper and social enterprise.
We have previously supported The Big Issue through an annual corporate subscription and have recently increased our support by committing to become a Gold corporate sponsor. This additional sponsorship enables us to work directly with the award-winning publication and mission-driven organisation, as they strive to unlock opportunities for millions of vulnerable people affected by poverty.
Overseen by The Big Issue Group, an established social business set up to re-invest profits and create innovative solutions through enterprise, each recognisable and eye-catching magazine issue focuses on media, culture and relevant social issues. Though more than 229 million copies have been sold since the paper was launched in 1991, The Big Issue represents much more than a weekly publication.
Big Issue vendors can buy copies of the newspaper for £2 and sell them for £4 - but being provided with the resources to run their own business isn’t the only benefit sellers receive. Becoming a seller also grants access to various ‘Hand Up’ pathways, designed to help vendors find their feet and make the most of financial independence. On a larger scale, The Big Issue Group look to positively affect the lives of individuals and communities, reinvesting profits with the ultimate goal of eradicating poverty.
Though we have been supporting The Big Issue through a corporate subscription, a renewed gold package sponsorship enables us to work with them even more closely, sharing ideas to create solutions. Our sponsorship fee will also help to generate vital revenue, fund core costs and develop new initiatives to offer support and opportunities.
Russell Blackman, Managing Director at Big Issue had the following to say on this exciting collaboration:
"We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with CFH Docmail and deeply appreciate their support, by becoming a Gold Corporate Member. Poverty is tearing at the fabric of our society, affecting more of our neighbours, friends, and families every day. And the crisis continues to escalate. Yet, amid these hardships, there is hope. Organisations like CFH Docmail stand with Big Issue, helping us break the cycle of poverty by providing opportunities and a hand up to those who need it most"
CFH share The Big Issue’s commitment to creating positive change, which makes the partnership a special one. While they support those facing homelessness and financial hardship, our work with housing associations and sector stakeholders keeps us closely connected to our clients as they tackle the housing crisis. Other overlapping values including a passion for sustainability, digital inclusion and individual wellbeing mean that we’re working towards a common goal.
Bill McFedries, Group CEO of CFH shared the following remarks:
"At CFH, we’re proud to forge partnerships that drive meaningful change. The Big Issue’s mission to help individuals experiencing poverty aligns with our own commitment to making a positive impact in society. By becoming a Gold Corporate Sponsor, we’re reinforcing our shared values of opportunity, inclusion, and sustainability. We’re delighted to continue supporting The Big Issue as they maintain their vital work, and we look forward to growing this partnership together"
CFH are committed to working alongside The Big Issue, as they look to create opportunities for those affected by hardship.
