A charity close to our hearts, Julian House are a non-profit organisation based in Bath, near our head office in Radstock.
Over the years, many of our employees have been generous enough to volunteer for the local charity in their free time. We have also organised several fundraising events and committed to regularly taking part in their annual ‘Circuit Of Bath’ Walk.
The months of August and September this year are shaping up to be a particularly busy time raising funds for this brilliant charity, with individuals across all teams playing a part.
For over 30 years, Julian House have been supporting vulnerable individuals across the South West of England. This includes adults and young people experiencing homelessness, those escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties and individuals who require support after leaving prison.
Each year, Julian House support over 2000 individuals in need, and with over 40 projects, accommodation sites and social enterprises, the charity aims to build a better society to support and empower. Funds raised for the charity go towards life changing services throughout the region, including refuge and recovery services.
On Tuesday the 13th of August, our Radstock site hosted a bake sale, with all funds raised being donated directly to Julian House. A huge success, the event gave our teams the chance to produce a variety of delicious baked goods, including chunky chocolate cookies, lemon drizzle cake, brownies, rocky road bites and much more.
Taking place in the break room, slices of cake and cookies were priced at £1 per piece, with factory and office staff free to grab treats as they pleased. Popular across the board, come 5pm there was barely a crumb in sight!
Overall, we were able to collect over £100 on the day – thanks to those of you who showcased your baking skills, and those who donated.
Taking place this year on Sunday 22nd September, we will yet again be participating in the 20-mile Circuit Of Bath Walk, a challenging charity event we have tackled on multiple occasions over the last few years. Raising over £1,000 during the 2023 edition, we’ll be hoping to yet again support Julian House by collecting funds prior to tackling the walk, and you can donate to the CFH Walking Wanderers Team online.
We look forward to developing our relationship with Julian House in the future – a fantastic charity organisation, encouraging positive change in the local community.
